Founded in March 1997 by Kathy Rhoads and Carol Mauck, Circle of Friends Adult Day Center was created out of a shared passion to help keep seniors living in their homes and communities. With Kathy’s and Carol’s extensive background in social work and geriatrics and nursing home consulting, the organization became a community-focused initiative dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors and their families. In 2014, Kathy took over sole ownership as Carol moved on to other endeavors. Over the years, Circle of Friends has grown into a trusted resource, recognized for its personalized approach and unwavering commitment to excellence in senior care.

In 2024, Kathy began transitioning ownership to Lindsey Senior Solutions (LSS) (ClarkLindsey and LSS are both subsidiaries of LindseyCommunties) ensuring the continuation of the high-quality care that has defined the organization while allowing her to step back from the responsibilities of business ownership.

ClarkLindsey was founded in the 1960’s/1970’s when Ethal Lindsey Clark and Maud Lindsey executed their wills to provide funding for a home for the elderly. Since opening their doors in 1978 ClarkLindsey has been on a mission to improve the lives of older adults in our community.

While ClarkLindsey’s primary mission is to serve the older adults who reside at their community on the corner of Windsor and Race st. LindseyCommunities (ClarkLindsey’s parent company) was created to expand the mission into the Champaign-Urbana community and beyond. With atHome Home Care & Home Nursing and now Circle of Friends Adult Day Center we are excited to be able to serve more older adults than ever before.
